Cyprus Festivals and Events

Cyprus's recurring calendar runs from Epiphany on 6 January and Limassol Carnival in February or March, through Orthodox Easter and Kataklysmos, to August fairs at Kykkos, Panagia and Lefkara and a three-day fair at Omodos on 14 September. Exact programmes change each year, so confirm them on the Visit Cyprus events calendar.

Cyprus has a rich calendar of religious holidays, carnivals and village fairs, and some of the best are small and local. This page lists the recurring ones that Visit Cyprus and Limassol Tourism describe, by month. It does not list this year's programmes, because those change: for dates and times, use the official Visit Cyprus events calendar. Public holiday dates are on Cyprus public holidays.

Where to check each year's dates

  • Visit Cyprus events calendar: the official portal lists current events at visitcyprus.com/events.
  • Limassol Tourism: publishes each year's carnival dates and programme at limassoltourism.com.
  • The municipality or village: small fairs are often announced locally, so confirm with the village or your host.

Planning around a festival

  • Book early: festival weekends and public holidays can fill hotels and rental cars, so confirm availability for your dates.
  • Check opening hours: public holidays close shops, banks and public services, as described on Cyprus public holidays.
  • Respect religious events: fairs and services are religious occasions. Keep a distance, keep quiet and follow local guidance.
  • Combine with a village visit: see villages in Cyprus for Omodos, Lefkara and Panagia.
